At Tint Works, window tint for most coupes, sedans and pickup trucks starts at $299.95 for all side windows and the rear windshield in Autobahn Black film. What Affects the Price of Window Tint?
1. Your vehicle
Coupes, sedans and most pickup trucks, including crew cabs, are average jobs. Vans and larger SUVs have extra windows and more glass. The size of your vehicle, how many windows it has and how complex the installation is all affect the price.
2. The film you choose
This is the biggest price factor. We install Autobahn Performance Films, which come with a lifetime warranty and a no-fault warranty at no additional cost. We offer three main films, and they’re all equal in quality. There’s no good, better and best. Every one is a high-quality film that blocks 99% of UV rays. The only real differences are price and heat rejection.
3. Extra glass
Windshields, sunroofs and panoramic roofs are priced separately. A single sunroof costs about the same as two front windows. Panoramic and dual roofs are bigger, so we need to see them in person before we can price them.
4. Old tint that has to come off
If your car already has bubbling, peeling or purple tint, it has to be removed first. Removing old tint is actually harder than putting new tint on, because the old adhesive has to come off the glass and the rear defroster lines have to stay intact. We need to see your vehicle in person and inspect the film before we can give you an exact price for removal.
What does not change the price
The shade. We carry many shades of window film, from light to dark, so you can choose what’s best for you. Our in-store display helps you see the difference before you decide. No matter which shade you choose, the price stays the same.
Which Film Should You Choose?
Every film we install is made by Autobahn with higher-quality materials than bargain films. That’s why they stay optically clear, with no low-angle haze, blurriness or cloudiness, and why they won’t fade or turn purple over time. All three block 99% of UV rays. The difference between them is how much heat they keep out.
| Film | Why choose it |
|---|---|
| Autobahn Black | Best for looks and budget. A clean, sharp look and full UV protection, made with the same high-quality materials as our ceramic films. |
| Black Ceramic | Adds heat rejection. One layer of ceramic keeps your cabin noticeably cooler than standard film. |
| i3 Ceramic | Our best-selling film and our most comfortable. Three layers of ceramic give the highest heat rejection we offer, making it one of the highest-performing automotive window films on the market. |
Not sure which one is right for you? Our in-store display lets you feel the heat difference between the films before you buy.
Why Cheap Tint Usually Costs More
The biggest myth in this business is that all window tint is the same. It isn’t. Bargain shops often use cheaper film made with cheaper materials. It looks fine on day one, then a year or two later the back window is bubbled and the sides have turned purple.
At that point the $50 you saved turns into paying to have the bad film removed, which can run a few hundred dollars, plus the cost of tinting it again. Doing it right the first time with a quality film and an experienced installer is the cheapest way to tint a car.
Ohio Window Tint Law (What’s Legal in 2026)
- Front side windows: must let in at least 50% of light (±3%).
- Rear side windows and rear windshield: any darkness is legal. If the rear windshield is darker than 50%, the vehicle needs both outside mirrors.
- Windshield: any shade is allowed on the top strip down to the AS-1 line or 5 inches from the top, whichever is closer. Below that, clear film is allowed as long as the windshield still lets in at least 70% of light.
- How it’s measured: the limits apply to the glass and film together, not just the shade printed on the film.
- No red, yellow or mirrored tint.
We go over the legal limits with you before we start, and you choose your shades.

Window Tint Cost FAQ
How much does it cost to tint a car in Columbus, Ohio?
At Tint Works in Powell, tinting all side windows and the rear windshield on most coupes, sedans and pickup trucks starts at $299.95 in Autobahn Black film, $449.95 in Black Ceramic and $599.95 in i3 Ceramic. SUVs, vans and specialty vehicles are quoted at the shop.
How much does it cost to tint just the front two windows?
Tinting just the front two windows (driver and passenger doors) starts at $149.95 in Autobahn Black, $199.95 in Black Ceramic and $249.95 in i3 Ceramic.
How much is windshield tint?
A full front windshield starts at $199.95 in Autobahn Black, $299.95 in Black Ceramic and $399.95 in i3 or clear Air Ceramic. A windshield visor strip is $79.95.
Does darker tint cost more?
No. Every shade costs the same. Only the vehicle and the film type change the price.
Is ceramic tint worth the extra cost?
If heat matters to you, yes. All of our films block 99% of UV rays and carry the same lifetime and no-fault warranty, but Black Ceramic and i3 Ceramic reject much more heat, so the cabin stays noticeably cooler in summer.
How much does it cost to remove old window tint?
It depends on the film’s condition, so we price removal after we see the car. Removing old tint is harder than installing new tint because the adhesive has to come off without damaging the rear defroster.
How dark can I legally tint my windows in Ohio?
Front side windows must let in at least 50% of light (±3%). Rear side windows and the rear windshield can be any darkness, as long as the vehicle has both outside mirrors. On the windshield, any shade is allowed on the top strip down to the AS-1 line or 5 inches from the top, and clear film is allowed below that if the windshield still lets in at least 70% of light.
How long does window tinting take?
Window tint is a same-day service at Tint Works. Drop your vehicle off in the morning and pick it up the same day.
